THE ÉLUS COËNS
Élus Coëns – Elect Priests (sometimes misspelled ‘Elus Cohens’ or ‘Kohens’, Elect Priests’), is a theurgical organisation founded by Martinès de Pasqually. It appeared in France in the second half of the 18th century and is the first branch of Martinist tradition, otherwise known as Martinezism.
To rise in the section of Élu Coën, which is a very mystical system of very high Degree of Masonry, the Aspirant must first take the Degrees of French Rite since, Élu Coën is a mystical reflection of the French Rite and initiation therein would give the initiate a better understanding of the ‘Elus Cohens’.
